Poland in VR
Dietrich School, Carnegie Mellon University
Create 2 interactive VR experiences about Poland and the Holocaust. Project will live in an interactive room on CMU's campus.
- VR experience that chronicles a journey through the settings of the Holocaust.
- VR experience that focuses on modern day Poland within the context of its role in the Holocaust.
In the first experience (still images to the right), the user journey will follow Survivor memory of the camps, their journey, and how they processed survival and loss.
The second piece focuses on juxtaposing current day Poland, and its relationship to the history of the Holocaust.
Our goal for both projects is to communicate the sense of place that exists in these spaces. Especially with this topic, feeling the environment helps inform how we process this history. Virtual Reality provides the perfect platform for this experience because it allows users to set foot and feel the history around them.
